A leafy walk along the Cuckoo trail

A nice walk along the Cuckoo trail near Heathfield in Sussex, this path follows the old railway trackbed and there are still some remnants of the old usage left, every so often the odd telegraph pole can be seen, or the occasional mile marker. One of the more obvious remnants is this bridge which goes over the path, it obviously is wide enough for a road but now leads nowhere.

Being an old trackbed the path is oftern very straight, another side effect from the previous usage is that most of the vegetation is the same age, which does unfortuantely lead to a rather one dimensional habitat.
