Marwell Zoo 1
Last week had the pleasure of visiting Marwell Zoo in Hampshire, it is very obvious why it is consistently voted one of the best zoos in the UK.
The weather was great, bright but not too hot, which meant that the animals (for the most part) were fairly active.
I will post several blogs over the next few days about the visit, this is the first one....enjoy....
The Collared Peccary were in a rather wooded enclosure, which doesn't make for great lighting, but am pretty happy with these.
The Northern White faced Owl was a challenge, sitting under the canopy, against the sun, through fine mesh...had a couple of goes at this one, this is from the first attempt.
It was great to see the Pygmy Hippos being active, I've only ever seen them asleep, just waking up, or just about to go to sleep, but on our first visit to the Hippo house I managed to get these lovely shots.
And to finish this particular post, a couple of one of my favourite animals, the stunning Snow Leopard.
Look out for more posts to follow soon...
