Butterflies of Battle great wood

A walk around Battle Great Wood the other day in search of 3 of my nemesis species (ones I've never managed to photograph), and did manage to connect with one of them.

Here is a selection of shots from the day...

Comma....not a nemesis species

Speckled wood...not a nemesis species

Meadow Brown...not a nemesis species

Gatekeeper...not a nemesis species

Common Blue...not a nemesis species

Essex Skipper...not a nemesis species

Ringlet...not a nemesis species

And then.....

Silver-washed Fritillary...The nemesis species no more!

Silver-washed Fritillary...The nemesis species no more!

Silver-washed Fritillary...The nemesis species no more!

Silver-washed Fritillary...The nemesis species no more!

It was great to finally manage to catch up and get such great views of the Silver-washed Fritillary, especially since it also coincided with views of a Ringlet which was my last species added to my photographed list....the two fairly obvious missing species now are Brimstone and White Admiral...and they both occur on this site, so it looks like several more trips here for me!!!
