The cats at Howletts
Had a bit of a busman's holiday yesterday and visited another zoo, this time Howletts park in Kent.
They are famous for their work with endangered animals and have a great selection of larger animals that we don't keep.
For my first post about this visit I've decided to focus on the cats, of which they have a great number, although as is usual not all of them played ball and I couldn't get a complete set.
Let's start with one of the families that the park is famous for,
They actually home 3 different species of Tiger, but these 2 Sumatran were the best posers.
Then there is the other 'big' big cat the Lion, now being Howletts they don't home your run of the mill lion, they have one that is actually extinct in the wild.....
Then the next cat I got a chance to get some good shots of was actually my favourite of the large cats, the North Chinese Leopard, and the large male in particular showed very well.
They also hold a great selection of the smaller cats, although the only one that really posed was a Pallas cat although who can resist a shot of Mr Grumpy!
